Pumpkin Patch

We took Blake to the Pumpkin Patch at Silo Christmas Tree Farm in Moffet when he visited his nana (my sister) for the weekend. I did a layout today with a cute picture from our visit - eventually this will be the October page in Mom's calendar for 2010, but the calendar part isn't done yet. Here is the Layout:

OBX Calendar completed

I finished my beach calendar of photos from our trip to the OBX in May 2009. Here is a sample -

Notes about the photo - This is from the series of photos we took on May 10, 2009 in Buxton, NC. We looked on the map for a road that would take us down to Pamlico Sound to watch the sunset. When we found the road, we failed to see the NO TRESPASSING sign at the corner. We got rousted by the Deputy Sheriff (he was really nice to us, but told us we had to leave) Fortunately he came AFTER I got some great shots of the sunset!

More calendar designs

Here is the 8 x 10 page I made for Mom's calendar in May. The photo was taken on Mom's 80th birthday May 27, 2009 at the pullout on Belton Dam on my way home from her house! I've included the calendar section of this layout, since I didn't save the layout as a separate projects (Oops! I do occasionally forget a step!)

Layout for Mom's calendar

I made a layout with a picture that I took back in 2001 with my very first digital camera. 1 megapixel Sony. But I love the image, and have used it for a lot of things.

I bought a calendar

I bought a calendar at DSO and then I figured out how to BUILD one in Paint Shop Pro.

2010 Calendars

I've been working on my 2010 calendar gifts - don't look if you think you might be getting one of these and you don't want to see the pictures early. You will notice that there is no calendar yet. I've been looking for a digital calendar stamp, but haven't found one yet, so I am resorting to doing that part in word. I'd even pay for one, if I could find a digital! Here's just a single sneak peek - I'm about half way done with the 12 months. I've left space to add the calendar when I move the art work into a word document!

Bracket - Joni Gray (Sweet September addon)

Paper - Helly (Apologize) but she probably wouldn't recognize her own paper, because I altered the color (it was originally 3 colors like Neopolitan icecream in green, white and blue) and I merge it with my own background created with a Color Fill and Texture! I'm having fun!

I created this layout for my mom's calendar for 2009. The waterlily photo is mine. I used a bracket designed by TempusFugit (Seashore Splendor) http://www.tempusfugit.blogspot.com
The background paper is a PHOTO of the same pond where I took the waterlily photo! I laid it over a green background made with color fill and texture in Paint Shop Pro, just in case you might see through when I used the visibility toggle on the photo. (I was trying to mask the background a little!

The Clark family may recognize this lily - they've seen it before!

Another layout done at Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club Retreat

I also did this layout with Joni Gray's Sunset kit over the past weekend . The photo is one of my favorites taken during our vacation in May!

I'm on a roll now ...

I've been inspired - or I just woke up to the fact that all these presents I have planned will not design themselves! Here is a Yellow Rose layout for the calendar I am making for my mom.

paper - digimom designs (DSO Aug 08)

paper - Helly (Apologize)

(these two papers were color adjusted slightly and merged!)

frame - Joni Gray (DSO Sept 09) - I also used the frame to create the flourishes I added at the top and bottom.

Scrapbook Art Show!

I just returned from the 10th annual FALL retreat sponsored by Heart of Texas Scrapbook Club. We hosted our very first DIGITAL category for the Scrapbook Arts Show - and I'm proud to say I received First Place for my entry entitled "Secret Gardens" - the flower pictures are from my amazing trip in May to Ocracoke Island, NC. Few of the homes on the island are for permanent residents - the population of the island is about 700 - but those homes all have little "pockets" of flowers, and they were in FULL BLOOM everywhere. Featured in this layout are a beautiful CLEMATIS (purple), an amazing IRIS (burgundy) and just a tiny view of the massive AZALEAS (hot pink).
