We arrived on Ocracoke Island about 2:30 today - we are in the house! It's going to be a GREAT week, I can already tell!
We did take a few pictures on the way down the OBX today, including the hosue that was filmed for the movie Nights in Roadanthe. It is actually the very first house on the ocean beach in Rodanthe. Quite lovely, but the neighbors are much closer than the movie would make you think.
We stopped along the road in from the ferry and poki took a short walk along the beach across from the Pony Pasture (where the National Park Service keeps some rescued wild horses) The ranger was there to feed them when we were there - and they definitely knew it was LUNCH TIME!
WE are going to walk down to Howard's Pub for dinner, or at least a vist to the bar. Mike already checked - it's 1.0 miles by road. Can't walk across the marsh - it might be MESSY!
Will load and display some pictures tomorrow.
